For 3 days in December 2024, we staged a Christmas Tree Festival, a first for our community event calendar.

 

From Friday 6th to Sunday 8th December (10.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.), St Margaret's Church in Ditchling was filled with Christmas Trees provided or sponsored by local organisations, businesses and families. Our beautiful, unique Nativity scene, featuring life sized figures in the stable, were also on display, together with pictures and reminiscences of Ditchling in winters past, seasonal music and refreshments.

 

The event proved very popular, attracting many visitors from our community and others from far and wide.  A donation from the proceeds was made to the Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity, which supports young children with cerebral palsy and motor learning impairments.
